During our most recent Board Meeting, we had the pleasure of hearing Rebecca Boyd discuss her experience as a mentor in the Project Karts program and her passion for automobiles.
Rebecca is a senior at Lee Williams High School and serves as a mentor in the Project Karts program. Her passion for cars began in childhood as she explored her father's garage while he worked on vehicles. This early curiosity sparked her interest, leading her to participate in the Lee Williams CTE Autos Program for the past three years. She hopes to work in an auto shop and build a career in automotive repair.
In her role as a mentor for Project Karts, Rebecca visits younger students to help them become acquainted with the go karts in Project Karts, ensuring they have a solid foundation when they enter high school and the Autos program.
Her advice for younger students is to: "Keep an open mind. It can be frustrating at times, but try to view things from different angles and learn about every aspect of the car."
We admire Rebecca's determination and are confident that she has a promising future ahead!
