Lee Williams High School

To provide students with an educational foundation for life-long success

Principal's Message

Message from the Principal

I am honored to be the new principal at LWHS, home of the Volunteers. This school and the community of Kingman are truly committed to the success of all students. I look forward to an extraordinary year; a year full of academic and personal gains, a year where minds and hearts will grow and dreams will become realities. Together anything is possible.

LWHS is a dynamic and creative school; offering comprehensive programs that allow students to take center stage as they develop lifelong skills. Students at LWHS have the opportunity to excel in academics, activities, athletics or visual and performing arts. The dedicated staff is committed to helping students explore their talents and to build a strong foundation for the future. We believe our students will be college and career ready by the time they exit high school, either through the Move on When Ready Cambridge program, or through the traditional pathway. Students
History of Lee Williams High School

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Lee Williams High School the website. While the school is only in its’ second year, the history behind the school’s namesake is based on a tradition of pride and extraordinary service. We at LWHS are proud to call ourselves “Volunteers” in honor of volunteer fire fighters who responded to the scene of a derailed propane tanker in 1973. Richard Lee Williams, principal of Kingman High School and volunteer fire fighter at the time, and nine of his fellow fire fighters, died in the line of duty on July 5th, 1973, when the inflamed Doxol propane tanker exploded. They left behind families, friends, and an indelible mark on the hearts of the entire community. We honor their memories by taking pride in our school and making every effort to continue their legacy and to be our best selves each and every day.

About our Staff

The staff at Lee Williams High School is highly committed to our students. Every teacher strives to assist all students in achieving their goals. Our staff members demonstrate an interest in developing well rounded students by coaching athletics, tutoring students, or sponsoring extracurricular activities. The LWHS staff also recognizes the need for ongoing professional development focused on a student centered program of instruction. Late start Wednesday collaboration time is used by staff to review the Beyond Textbooks curriculum maps and formative assessments. Data is used to plan re-teach and enrichment activities to enhance student learning and growth.
